Our Social Days: We Made the Difference!

Release date: 13 Oct 2025

Our Social Days are more than just a cherished tradition – they embody social responsibility, teamwork, and solidarity. Once again, this year, colleagues at our locations around the world rolled up their sleeves and swapped laptops for hedge trimmers, paintbrushes, and cooking spoons. The results are impressive and show what we can achieve as One Global Team.

A heartfelt thank you to all colleagues who have participated in our Social Days so far!

Cork

As part of the “Time2Count” program, our volunteers visited Scoil Oilibheir, a large co-educational primary school in Ballyvolane, a northern suburb of Cork City. There, they playfully supported children in developing their math skills and building confidence with numbers. The initiative fostered not only learning success but also meaningful connections between the children and volunteers.

Eschborn

In cooperation with the Malteser Hilfsdienst e. V., our colleagues supported ninth-grade students from the Louise-von-Rothschild School in Frankfurt with job application training. This included –helping them prepare résumés and cover letters and practicing interview techniques. Other colleagues created a new school garden at Günthersburgpark. As part of the Sustainability Day and in collaboration with the organization “Stützende Hände e. V.,” our teams helped prepare fresh meals for people experiencing homelessness in Frankfurt.

Leipzig

More than 400 colleagues took part in the EEX & ECC Social Day. Under the motto “Respect,” teams engaged in social responsibility, diversity, and sustainability. They supported 25 local organizations, including youth and family centers, daycare centers, schools, environmental projects, and facilities for homeless and elderly people. Among others, they carried out renovations, created gardens, landscaped green spaces, cleaned up forests and prepared meals.

London

Our volunteers supported The Felix Project – a London-based food redistribution charity fighting food poverty by rescuing and redistributing surplus food. During their engagement, they sorted food and prepared deliveries or helped to deliver food to community organizations. Another project was the “Breakfast Challenge” at the Whitechapel Mission – an organization for homeless and marginalized people. They prepared and served breakfast for up to 450 people living on the streets – a very rewarding experience and an opportunity to connect with people in a positive and meaningful way.

Luxembourg

Whether building a new fence for the SOS Children’s Village Fondation Lëtzebuerg in Mersch or working on gardening and creative graffiti projects at the SOS Children’s Village Saar – our Social Days in Luxembourg were all about teamwork, creativity, and sustainable engagement. Our colleagues helped to enhance the living environment for children who cannot live with their parents and make their surroundings more colorful and welcoming.

Prague

Our colleagues supported a variety of projects: maintaining the St. Klára vineyard in the Botanical Garden, working in the gardens of Troja Chateau, sorting clothing for the Šatník Foundation, and improving the outdoor area of the Chodov senior home. With their participation to the environmental initiative Tree Planting they contributed to the nation-wide reforestation efforts for Czech landscapes and supported the long-term health of local ecosystems.

Singapore

At the “Willing Hearts” soup kitchen, our employees prepared free meals for disadvantaged and marginalized individuals – a powerful act of solidarity and compassion.

More volunteering activities are in the pipeline, including in Chicago, London, Prague, and Singapore.

Mariia Bilousova: "As part of the volunteering initiative with ‘Stützende Hände’, we cooked a dinner for people experiencing homelessness in Frankfurt. While cooking itself and cutting 20 kilos of potatoes and 4 kilos of carrots together with colleagues was fun, the conversations we had with those running the project and directly working with the people on the streets was quite eye-opening. Thinking that by participating in this initiative we could bring a short moment of happiness to the day of those who are very much in need of support and kindness made the experience truly special."

Zuzana Markova: "We’ve already participated twice in a tree-planting initiative aimed at restoring native species to areas affected by human activity. These experiences were not only meaningful in terms of environmental impact, but also deeply enriching for our company culture. By working side by side outdoors, we strengthened bonds across teams, built new friendships, and expanded our internal networks. It was a powerful reminder that making a tangible difference in our local community can also bring us closer together as colleagues."
