How and when did you start working at Eurex?

During my Master’s in Business Administration, I first heard about the diverse career opportunities at Eurex in a guest lecture by Thomas Book. In order to gain further professional experience before graduating and to get a better orientation for the future, I decided to apply for an internship at Eurex. From March 2019, I then had the opportunity to gain valuable experience with Eurex Marketing for a three-month period. During this time, I was given an insight into the structures of the marketing department as well as the company as a whole. I learned a lot because the work was very diverse. I also enjoyed the working atmosphere and the cooperation between colleagues, which was why I decided to stay at Eurex as a working student. After successfully completing my Master’s degree, luck was on my side as a new position became available in my department for which I applied. That is how I joined the department as a full-time employee in November of 2019.

From intern to working student – from working student to young professional – what have been your personal milestones so far?

During my time as a working student, I was involved in numerous exciting projects. I was entrusted with tasks that entailed a high level of independent responsibility. Then, when I was hired as a young professional, my projects became even more demanding, specialised and complex. Along with my growing responsibility in the team, I also developed personally.

In addition, I got to know many unique personalities at Eurex and expanded my social network considerably. Marketing touches on different lines of business for which it is beneficial to know many of the contacts personally. That is also one of the great things about my job: I can grow specifically in my area of responsibility but, at the same time, I gain valuable insights into other areas and professions thanks to regular interaction.

What are your responsibilities in the marketing team and which skills are particularly important for your job?

In my team I am responsible for the fixed income markets Repo & Securities Lending. Product marketing includes the conceptual planning of initiatives, events and promotion as well as the following organisation, implementation and analytical evaluation. Communication and coordination with the individual departments and management are all essential parts of the daily business. In strategic planning, it is also beneficial to have organisational talent and a good product understanding.

I also look after the Eurex websites. Here, I maintain the contents with our content management system, and I am in the lead for our website project to significantly improve the functionality and customer experience of all our Eurex websites. I am not only responsible for the requirements, but also largely involved in planning the structure and communication. I have been working on this project since last year and it is a very exciting and large-scale project with many challenges.

As I specialised in customer surveys and survey tools during my time as a working student, I also manage the Eurex-wide customer satisfaction survey project. Good communication and analytical skills are important here.

Finally, I am working on a project to define new naming conventions for a service. For this, it is very helpful that I can become familiar with new topics in a very short time, am open to new things and see them from different points of view.

All in all, I am involved in various exciting projects alongside my daily business and always have a varied day with a full range of different tasks.
